ShareGate Migrate 26.7.1

6 July 2026

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that caused the Quick Links web part links to break at the destination after copying a page or site. When a quick link pointed to a document added from the Recent list or via URL, the linked document and its library were not always included in the copy, so the link appeared valid in ShareGate but did not work at the destination.

  • We fixed an issue that caused Copy User Permissions to fail on large document libraries. When a library had many items with unique permissions and large access control lists, ShareGate loaded more permission data than it could process, causing the task to error out before completing.

  • We fixed an issue that caused Google Drive connections to incorrectly report that your account was not a Super admin, even when you connected with a Super admin account.

  • We resolved an issue that prevented certain files in Google Drive Shared Drives from migrating. Files with an empty revision history or a revision without author information caused an error during property extraction, preventing those files from being imported.

ShareGate Migrate 26.6.5

29 June 2026

What's new

  • We've added Azure Application authentication for PowerShell. Register an app in Microsoft Entra ID (Entra ID), configure it with a certificate, and pass it to Connect-Site or Connect-Tenant using the new -AzureApplication parameter. Migrations run without any browser interaction or manual credential entry.

  • We've added a -DestinationOwnerUserName parameter to Copy-Team and Copy-TeamChannel. Use it to specify the destination user's user principal name (UPN) for the team or channel.

ShareGate Migrate 26.6.4

26 June 2026

What's new

  • Copy Identities is now available to all ShareGate Migrate Pro and Enterprise users. Set up your identity mapping, create new identities in the destination tenant, and let migrated users claim their new accounts — all without leaving ShareGate.

  • You can now migrate a source mailbox into a folder in the destination mailbox, letting you copy mailbox content into a specific location rather than the mailbox root.

  • You can now copy a mailbox to another mailbox within the same tenant, making it possible to merge two mailboxes together without switching tenants.

  • ShareGate Migrate now migrates the IsAuthoritative flag on site collections. When a site is marked as authoritative at source, that designation is carried across to the destination, preserving how the site is treated by Microsoft Search, Copilot, and other AI agents after migration. (MC1310687)

  • When configuring identity naming settings, you can now set the destination UPN prefix pattern for new identities using format presets (such as firstname.lastname or firstinitial.lastname) or by composing a custom prefix using tokens. A preview shows how the resulting UPN will look before you apply the rules.

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue where copying certain Outlook mail rules could fail with an unexpected error during a mailbox migration.

  • We fixed an issue where email or calendar attachments could in rare cases be corrupted during a mailbox copy.

ShareGate Migrate 26.6.3

22 June 2026

What's new

  • You can now create identities directly from a CSV import in the Copy Identities mapping screen, reducing the need for manual entry. The mapping screen also supports CSV export and import of your mappings, including the licenses assigned at the destination.

  • ShareGate now uses Microsoft Entra ID's Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) as the onboarding mechanism after an identity migration. When running an identity migration, you can set each migrated user's old email address as an alternate authentication method on their new account, allowing them to claim it securely via SSPR without requiring admin intervention. Learn how migrated users access their new account after an identity migration.

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that caused the identities selected banner on the mapping table to show only the count of selections visible in the current filtered view. The banner now always reflects the total number of selected identities, including those hidden by active filters. Clear selection now also clears hidden selections.

  • We fixed an issue where the PowerShell SensitivityLabelMappingCollection used the source label ID as the mapping key instead of the full label name. The mapping key now uses the concatenation of the parent name and label name, which matches the format used elsewhere in sensitivity label operations. If you have existing scripts that reference labels by source ID, update them to use the full label name.

  • The Copy User Alerts option in copy settings is now disabled when the source or destination is SharePoint Online. Microsoft has deprecated the API that ShareGate Migrate relies on for this option (MC1072889), so it is no longer available for SharePoint Online migrations. The option remains visible so you can see why it is unavailable. On-premises-to-on-premises migrations are not affected.

ShareGate Migrate 26.6.2

17 June 2026

What's new

  • We've added support for Application-based authentication in PowerShell cmdlets for Copy mailboxes Exchange Online connections. You can now authenticate using application credentials instead of user credentials, allowing you to run mailbox migration scripts in unattended or automated scenarios.

  • We've added a Destination folder option to Copy mailboxes. You can now specify a folder path in the destination mailbox so migrated content lands in a subfolder instead of the mailbox root.

  • We've added support for same-tenant migrations to Copy mailboxes. You can now copy a mailbox to another mailbox within the same tenant.

  • We've added filter controls to the identity mapping screen. You can now filter identities by department, group, and license.

  • We've added a Bulk Actions button to the identity mapping screen. You can now bulk-assign licenses and bulk-remove overrides for multiple identities at once.

  • We've added a collapsible details section to the identity mapping side panel. It shows source and destination identity attributes (display name, UPN, email, license, job title, department, account type, and country) to help you verify matches before migration.

What's fixed or improved

  • Identity types that can't be migrated (Distribution Lists and Mail-Enabled Security Groups) now show an Unsupported status on the identity mapping screen. Previously, they appeared as Will be created and failed during copy.

  • Clicking the minimize button on the startup data-upgrade window no longer throws an error.

  • We fixed an issue that caused Copy mailboxes to incorrectly report the error Failed to create calendar event category. This item already exists at the destination in the migration report for calendar event categories that were already present at the destination and had been successfully copied.

ShareGate Migrate 26.6.1

10 June 2026

What's new

  • We've added support for Litigation Hold Copy in Mailbox Copy PowerShell commands.

  • You can now run up to 128 mailboxes concurrently, up from the previous limit of 16 when copying mailboxes with PowerShell. We've added a -MaxConcurrentMailboxes parameter to New-MailboxCopyOptions in PowerShell.

What's fixed or improved

  • We've added sorting to the selection column in the identity mapping table in Copy identities.

  • We've added a Start Copy button to the pre-check screen in Copy identities. It appears after the analysis completes, so you launch your migration right away.

  • We've added a read-only Source license column to the identity mapping table in Copy identities, positioned before the destination license column.

  • We've added an option in Copy teams to hide user avatars on messages, improving readability for high-volume conversations.

  • We fixed an issue that caused Copy content and structure migrations to fail with the error "Activation of classic publishing feature is not allowed" when the source site had the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature activated, and the destination tenant had classic publishing site creation turned off. ShareGate now surfaces a clear error that identifies the cause and displays the exact command needed.

  • We fixed an issue that caused mailbox migrations to fail when EWS was blocked on the source mailbox (e.g., disabled via Set-CASMailbox). The failure now only affects the archive mailbox.

  • We fixed an issue that caused the Last Modified date to appear empty in document reports for files that were never checked in and were checked out by another user when using browser authentication.

  • We solved an issue that prevented in-place archive subfolders from being promoted to root folders during incremental copies with Copy mailboxes.

  • We fixed an issue that caused an "Encryption settings not found" error to appear incorrectly on the settings screen.

  • We resolved an issue that caused unexpected errors to appear on the destination selection and copy review screen in Copy mailboxes.

  • We fixed an issue that caused the Copy mailboxes summary title to overflow over the edit and export buttons when task names were too long.

  • We fixed an issue that caused the report export to drop the .zip extension when the tenant was identified by a domain name containing a ..

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.7

1 June 2026

What's new

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that could cause Microsoft 365 group migrations to stop processing when a single user failed to be added to the group's membership.

  • We fixed a bug that caused active external users to appear in the orphaned user report due to a user principal name (UPN) mismatch between the site user info list and Entra ID.

  • We fixed a bug that caused the connection picker in the Explore screen to show an SGUnhandledException error.

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.6

26 May 2026

What's new

  • We've added the ability to reorder mailboxes in the migration queue. You can now move them up or down without removing and re-adding them.

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that caused the ShareGate Migrate app data upgrade prompt to appear on top of the login screen. Because users weren't logged in yet, clicking any button on the prompt would silently fail, preventing them from dismissing it or signing in.

  • We improved the resilience of the user data upgrade to avoid the upgrade from ending prematurely because of a corrupted entry.

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.5

25 May 2026

What's new

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that caused some SharePoint web parts to fail and show a warning when copying sites using Insane Mode in Microsoft 365 to Microsoft 365 migrations.

  • We fixed an issue that caused the progress bar for PowerShell mailbox migrations to jump to 99% too quickly and remain there for the rest of a large migration.

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.4

21 May 2026

What's new

  • Copy identities is now available as a preview with a few updates:

    • We've redesigned the Identity Copy planning view. Source and destination tenants are now selected side by side, with all mapping decisions visible on a single screen.

    • You can now override auto-matched mappings, resolve multiple-match conflicts, or create a new identity from the new side panel.

    • Destination licenses can now be assigned to identities directly from the side panel.

    • Domain mapping rules let you map specific source domains to a different destination domain.

    • Override decisions are persisted across sessions.

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that could cause Copy In-Place Archive migrations to silently cancel items, showing them as Canceled in the migration report with no Errors or Warnings.

  • We renamed the License column header to To be assigned Destination License(s) and updated related labels in the side panel to clarify that these refer to destination licenses with Copy identities.

  • We resolved an issue where domain mappings could be overridden by persisted force-creation settings with Copy identities.

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.3

15 May 2026

What's new

  • We've added a Get-SharePointConnections command to the PowerShell module. You can use it to retrieve your SharePoint connections, with optional filtering by username, host, or connection ID.

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that caused the error Method not found when copying classic web parts from Microsoft 365.

  • We fixed an issue where the offline activation form appeared on every launch for users with an active trial license, even after successfully completing offline activation.

  • We fixed an issue that could cause some users to be incorrectly mapped during SharePoint migrations.

  • We fixed an issue that prevented tasks from being deleted when their associated Azure storage container no longer existed.

  • We fixed an issue that could cause the app to hang on startup.

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.2

11 May 2026

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed an issue that caused user resolution to fail when migrating to a SharePoint site whose User Information List exceeded the 5,000-item threshold, resulting in a List View Threshold exceeded error during permissions and group migration.

  • We updated the message shown in Copy Structure & Content when term stores cannot be loaded under Modern Authentication. The app previously displayed This site does not contain any term stores, which was misleading. It now correctly explains that Managed Metadata cannot be displayed when Modern Authentication is in use, and that Browser authentication is required.

  • We fixed an issue that caused auto-mapping to assign permissions to the wrong user when multiple destination users shared the same display name. ShareGate now skips the automatic mapping when it finds multiple equally viable matches, preventing permissions from being applied to the wrong account.

  • We improved token validation for Google Authentication to prevent invalid tokens from being returned by the Google Drive service. For Modern Google connections, we also ensure a valid token is obtained when the authenticator is created.

  • We improved the resiliency of Exchange attachment migration to reduce errors when copying mailboxes.

ShareGate Migrate 26.5.1

6 May 2026

What's fixed or improved

  • We fixed a performance issue that caused ShareGate Migrate to become unresponsive for several minutes when using the Select all option in connection management screens.

  • We fixed an issue that caused the mailbox mapping search to fail with the error The parameter 'address' cannot be an empty string when the destination tenant had a user without a primary email address.

  • We fixed a bug that caused errors on incremental migrations for archive and group mailboxes when two or more attachments on the same message had the same name.

  • We fixed an issue that caused calendar event attendees' declined response status to be silently reset to "not responded" after migration with Copy mailboxes and Copy from Gmail.
