As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance ShareGate Protect, we retired the legacy management features on August 29, 2025. This transition aims to provide a more powerful, flexible, and intelligent governance experience tailored to the evolving needs of Microsoft 365 administrators.
Some features remain and have been moved elsewhere in ShareGate Protect; others will be temporarily unavailable and reinstated later this year, while a few were removed permanently.

*Remediation actions, such as changing the privacy setting or membership of a workspace, can be found through the Oversharing tab of the Governance risk assessment. When you click on one of the key points, like Public groups, you can click on the three dots icon for any workspace to make changes.

You can still access review and report features through a new Governance Assessment, including:

Orphaned workspaces
Inactive workspaces

Policies
Inactivity and external sharing review policies have been unavailable temporarily since August 29.
An improved policy system will be introduced later this year.
Archive
Group archiving is temporarily paused. You can still view and restore previously archived groups.
New archival capabilities will be introduced as soon as possible.
Provisioning and the Teams app
Provisioning and the Teams end-user app are no longer available.
Sites already provisioned with ShareGate Protect will remain.
Tip: You can use ShareGate Migrate’s site copy feature to build new sites from another site, or try Microsoft’s open-source provisioning scripts.
