Details

The Sensitivity label mapped at the destination cannot be applied to the migrated object because its scope settings are inappropriate for the object type.

Solutions

Solution 1: Adjust the Sensitivity label mapping

  1. Map your sensitivity label to one with scope settings that apply to the type of object you are copying.

  2. Retry the migration of the affected item.

Solution 2: Update the Sensitivity label in Microsoft Purview

  1. Access the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.

  2. Locate and edit the Sensitivity label assigned to the affected item.

  3. Update the label’s settings to include appropriate scopes such as items, sites, or groups.

  4. Republish the label.

For detailed instructions on configuring Sensitivity labels, refer to Microsoft's article, Create and configure sensitivity labels.

Note: The updated Sensitivity label may take up to 24 hours to be fully published across your environment. Once the label is updated and available, retry the migration for the affected item(s).
