Details

This error happens because ShareGate Migrate received an error from SharePoint while transferring a file. ShareGate Migrate retries the operation up to 5 times, but after that, it skips the document, and you receive this error.

These errors can occur when ShareGate Migrate transfers many larger files simultaneously, and SharePoint has trouble handling them.

Also, a source file may be corrupted, preventing SharePoint from processing it properly and ShareGate's migration tool from reading it.

If you get this error while migrating many larger files, you can try to migrate these files individually or in small batches with Copy content only.

If you get this error on smaller files or if you still get the error after migrating the files individually, check if the source file is corrupted. To do so, try to download a local copy directly from your source SharePoint library and with SharePoint Designer.

If you cannot download your file in SharePoint and SharePoint Designer, the file is corrupted, and ShareGate's migration tool cannot handle it.
