Details

This error can happen in one of the following scenarios:

  • When copying a lookup site column.

  • When copying a list/library that contains a lookup column.

  • When copying data from or to a list/library that contains a lookup column.

This error means that the lookup column is corrupted because it refers to a list that no longer exists. For this reason, ShareGate Migrate cannot copy the column or set a value in it.

Solution

If the list that the column references is still in the recycle bin, you can restore the list from the recycle bin and it will return the column to its previous non-corrupted state.

If the list cannot be found in the recycle bin, it means that the column is completely corrupted and it cannot be used or updated in SharePoint, so it needs to be deleted and re-created. This will result in loss of data in the column, but since the column is corrupted, the data is normally already lost.
