  • The recurring event associated with this event could not be found at the destination because multiple events match the entry.

Details

If you create an exception to a calendar's recurring event---for example, by using Edit Occurrence or Edit This event, Delete Occurrence or Delete This event---SharePoint creates a new event to manage this special occurrence. This special occurrence of the recurring event is assigned the recurring event's identifier to its MasterSeriesItemId field.

When copying, ShareGate must retrieve the original recurring event at the destination to reassign the MasterSeriesItemId to the special occurrence. There needs to be a single match to ensure the proper recurrent event is associated with the special occurrence.

You will receive an error message if ShareGate cannot locate the proper recurring event associated with the special occurrence or locates multiple recurrent events that could potentially be associated.

Solution

The associated recurring event could not be found

To ensure that the recurring event associated with the special occurrence exists at the destination, you can:

  • Copy the associated recurring event before attempting to copy the special occurrence.

  • Include the associated recurring event in the copy.

Multiple associated recurring events are found

If multiple associated recurring events are found at the destination, more than 1 item will match the key properties set in the property mappings.

To associate a special occurrence with a specific recurring event, specify more key properties by following the information in the Map properties article.
