Symptoms

When migrating an item using Insane mode, one of the following errors is displayed:

Failed to import the item 'mydocument.docx' as a draft.

Failed to import the item 'item name' as a draft. This can happen when your migration destination supports minor versions but your source does not. You can either retry the migration using Normal Mode, or you can disable minor versions at your destination.

Details

This issue can happen when your migration destination supports minor versions but your source does not.

This issue only occurs in Insane mode migrations, when the destination of the migration does not allow major draft versions.

Solution

You can either:

  1. Retry your migration using Normal mode.

  2. Disable minor versions at your destination.

  3. Disable content approval at your destination.
