Transfer your machine activation to another computer or user

With your ShareGate subscription, you can have 1, 5, or 25 machine activations for ShareGate Migrate. To activate ShareGate on a different computer or for another user, you must have an available machine activation in your ShareGate subscription.

If all your activations are used, you can transfer an existing activation or add activations to your subscription.

Note: If your machine is offline or ShareGate Migrate can't contact the license server, see Offline license activations to learn how to transfer an offline license.

How to transfer a machine activation

In ShareGate Home:

  1. Open ShareGate Home and sign in.

  2. Select Subscription from the side menu.

  3. If you have more than 1 subscription, click Manage next to the one you want to transfer.

  4. Select the Users tab.

  5. Click Remove activation next to the activated license you want to transfer to a different computer.

  6. Install ShareGate Migrate in your new location.

  7. Launch ShareGate Migrate.
