Step 1 - Create a ShareGate Home account

ShareGate Home is your hub for managing your ShareGate subscription and viewing your account details. You can also access ShareGate Migrate and Protect from here, as well as other product resources.

To create your ShareGate Home account:

  1. Head to login.sharegate.com and click:

    • Try ShareGate for free at the bottom of the page for a full-featured 15-day trial version of ShareGate.

    • Or, if you already have an active license key, click Create an account to get started.

  2. Enter your information.

  3. Follow the steps in the verification email.

  4. Once you've entered your information and verified your account, you'll be taken to ShareGate Home.

Considerations

  • A business email address is required for ShareGate Home account creation.

  • Some domains cannot be used to create a ShareGate Home account. For example, personal email domains such as Hotmail or Gmail or disposable email services like trashmail.org.

  • You cannot change your email address or delete your ShareGate account through ShareGate Home. If your business needs change, contact our support team—we'll work through this together.

Step 2 - Explore our features

ShareGate Protect

For the first connection only, a global administrator needs to consent ShareGate on your tenant. For more information, see Why does a global admin need to give one-time consent to access ShareGate Protect?

  1. In ShareGate Home, click Connect tenant or Manage my tenant under Protect your environment.

  2. Use your Microsoft credentials to sign in.

When you sign in for the first time, ShareGate performs an initial crawl of your tenant. If using ShareGate Protect for the first time, have a look at our ShareGate Protect quick start guide.

ShareGate Migrate

  1. In ShareGate Home, select Open under Migrate your data to open ShareGate Migrate.

    1. If you haven't downloaded ShareGate Migrate yet, select Download Migrate.

    2. Launch the Sharegate.exe file on your machine.
