Activation

For instructions on how to activate ShareGate Migrate, see ShareGate Migrate activations.

Considerations when installing ShareGate Migrate on a remote server

  • ShareGate Migrate must remain open at least in the system tray for operations such as scheduled tasks.

  • Your operations will not run if you are logged off or in sleep mode. They will run if your system is locked.

  • When using a virtual machine (VM), you need to have a persistent desktop (an image that persists between reboots) to ensure the app can preserve your settings, task history, and scheduled tasks.

  • If you are using a remote server session, operations will continue to run as long as the server is not asleep.

  • For browser authentication, the Edge runtime is necessary. ShareGate Migrate installs with a bootstrapper to ensure you have the latest version of the Edge runtime. For more information, see Edge runtime installation failed (Internet Explorer deprecation).
