A Nintex user defined action could not be created at level

Symptoms

When trying to copy a Nintex Workflow, the app displays the following warning:

A Nintex user defined action could not be created at "Farm" level. It was created at the "Site collection" level instead.

Error code

  • ST-188-177

  • Any error code ending with: -177

Details

This error occurs when copying a Nintex Workflow containing a User Defined Action. The error means that ShareGate Migrate was unable to create the User Defined Action in the same scope as it was at the source (either at the site collection level or farm level), so it was created in a lower scope instead (either site or site collection).

Solution

Make sure you have sufficient permissions at the destination to promote a User Defined Action to the site collection level or farm level. Once you have the permissions, you can either manually promote the User Defined Action at the destination to send it to the right scope, or retry the migration.

Note: User Defined Actions do not exist in Microsoft 365 so you cannot migrate them when your destination is Microsoft 365.
