In Multi-Geo environments, you have a central location where you initially provisioned your tenant and one or more satellite locations to ensure you meet your data residency requirements.
Note: It is recommended to connect to only one multi-geo location per task to avoid potential disconnections in ShareGate Migrate.
SharePoint sites and OneDrive for Business
You can use ShareGate Migrate on SharePoint sites and OneDrives in a Multi-Geo environment.
When you connect to a SharePoint site or OneDrive, you must use the geolocalized URL. Once you are connected, ShareGate Migrate will display the URL in the usual format.
For example, if you connect to a OneDrive in the United States, you must have .us in the URL like this:
https://domain.us-my.sharepoint.com/personal/user_name
When connected, ShareGate Migrate shows a standard URL that looks like this:
Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Groups
Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Groups support is limited to operations in the central site. You cannot access these elements in Multi-Geo satellite sites.
Migrated teams and groups will always go to the central tenant domain.
