As a Microsoft 365 global admin, you can grant the necessary permissions and assign the assessor role to users so they can run the migration assessment in your tenant with these steps:
When a user tries to access the feature for the first time, they are provided a link they can send you to complete the Microsoft 365 consent process.
Open the link your user sent you.
The link's structure should look like this: https://protect.sharegate.com/app/tenant-access-request?token=eAjEsgr9Hki96hiJcx9xLTq.
Click on Review permissions
If these permissions have already been consented to for your tenant, the first step will be marked as Permissions accepted, and you can skip to step (5).
You will get a Microsoft prompt to consent to several permissions.
To learn about these permissions, see Microsoft 365 permission sets required for ShareGate.
Click Accept.
Click Take me to Entra ID. ShareGate will take you to your Entra ID admin center.
If the link doesn't work, follow the steps in the Modify who has access as a global admin section below to grant the required Assessor role.
Find the user you want to grant access to and select them with a checkmark.
If your user is not on the list, click + Add user/group in the top menu, then find your user and assign the Assessor role from that page.
Click on Edit assignment in the top menu.
Click None Selected under Select a role.
Select the Assessor application role.
Click Select.
Click Assign.
Once assigned, you will see the Assessor role under Role assigned for your user, and they will have access to ShareGate Protect.
Modify who has access to the assessment
As a global or privileged admin, you can grant and remove access to the Migration assessment for any user through Entra ID.
