Consent to Microsoft 365 permissions and assign the necessary Assessor role to access ShareGate's Copilot readiness assistant

Updated over a week ago

As a global or privileged admin, you can consent to the required Microsoft 365 permissions and assign the Assessor role to any user who needs to access the Copilot readiness assessment.

To set access for a user or yourself, please follow the steps for your scenario below.

Request access if you are not a global admin

  1. Access ShareGate Protect from ShareGate Home.

  2. When prompted, select Go to assessment.

  3. Sign in with your Microsoft account.

  4. When prompted to accept the permissions requested to read your basic account information, click Accept.

  5. Click Copy in the Request access box.

  6. Share the link with a global or privileged role admin on your tenant.

    • The link contains encrypted data and expires after 30 days. When your tenant admin opens the link, they're guided through setting up your access.

Once an admin consents to the Microsoft 365 permissions and grants access, the assessment can take minutes to hours to finish crawling your environment, depending on its complexity.

  5. Click Take me to Entra ID. ShareGate Protect will take you to your Entra ID admin center.

  6. Find the user you want to grant access to and select him with a checkmark.
