Inactivity details
Updated over a month ago

The Copilot Readiness Assessment crawls your tenant and collects data about inactive teams and groups, and provides guidance for understanding how inactivity can affect Microsoft Copilot.

Accessing inactivity details

To access the inactive groups details, do one of the following:

  • From the Overview tab, find the inactive groups key point and click See details.

  • From Data quality tab, click the Inactive groups data point.

Inactivity overview

The Workspace with inactivity page displays the inactive Teams and Groups workspaces that have been inactive for six months or more. To learn more about how ShareGate defines inactivity, see How does ShareGate crawl workspaces to detect inactive teams and groups?

The Copilot Readiness Assessment provides details about inactivity only for Teams and Groups workspaces. SharePoint sites that are not connected to Microsoft 365 groups, OneDrive for Business, and Teams private and shared channels are not included in inactivity details.

About inactive groups displays:

  • The percentage of groups that have been inactive for six months or more.

  • The potential risks of having inactive groups as they relate to Copilot implementation.

  • Suggested actions you can take to mitigate the potential risks of having inactive groups.

Inactivity report

The workspace inactivity report displays:

  • The total number of inactive workspaces.

  • The Last activity date of each inactive workspace, with the oldest inactivity date at the top by default.

  • The workspace Name.

  • The number of workspace Owners.

  • The number of workspace Members.

Click Export to save the report as a CSV file. The CSV file includes the same columns, sorting, and search results as the on-screen report.
