Install ShareGate's end-user app and make it available to all your users

Install and pin ShareGate's end-user app in Microsoft Teams to make it available for all users in your organization.

To ensure your users can access your provisioning templates, we recommend that you pin the ShareGate end-user app to the Teams sidebar for all your users.

Prerequisites

Note: End-users don't need a ShareGate license or account to use the end-user app. After completing the steps below, your colleagues can immediately use and explore the app!

Install and pin ShareGate's end-user app for all your users

Tip: There is a banner to install and pin the app on the Provisioning page. Click Install app to install the end-user app and bring you to the Teams admin center where you can review permissions. When installation is complete, click Pin the app on the Provisioning page banner to go to the Setup policies page in the Teams admin center. From there, you can Pin the ShareGate end-user app for all users.

1. Install the ShareGate end-user app

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft Teams admin center as a global admin.

  2. Expand Teams apps in the menu.

  3. Select Setup policies.

  4. Click Global (Org-wide default).

  5. Click Add apps.

  6. Use the Search by name field to find the ShareGate end-user app.

  7. Hover your cursor over the ShareGate app in the dropdown.

  8. Click Add.

  9. Click Add to confirm your action.

2. Accept the permissions for the ShareGate end-user app

In the Microsoft Teams admin center:

  1. In the sidebar, go to Teams apps > Manage apps.

  2. In All apps, find and select ShareGate.

    • Use the search bar if needed.

  3. Select Permissions.

  4. Select Review permissions and consent.

  5. Select your global admin account.

  6. Select Accept.

3. Pin the ShareGate end-user app for all users

In the Microsoft Teams admin center:

  1. In the sidebar, go to Teams apps > Setup policies.

  2. Under Pinned apps, select +Add apps.

  3. Use the Search by name field to find the ShareGate end-user app.

  4. Select Add.

  5. Select Add to confirm your action.

  6. Drag and drop the ShareGate end-user app to the desired position in the Microsoft Teams menu.

  7. Select Save.

Note: An org-wide setup policy can take several hours to appear for your end users.
