Approve team and SharePoint site creation requests from ShareGate's end-user app
Approve team and SharePoint site creation requests from ShareGate's end-user app
Updated over 2 weeks ago

Some templates are marked Approval required. For these templates, an assigned approver must approve each workspace creation request from ShareGate's end-user app.

If you receive a ShareGate chatbot notification in Teams that asks for your approval to create a team or SharePoint site, follow the directions below to approve or deny the request.

Note: Template approvers are assigned by your organization's IT admin.

Approve a request

From ShareGate's end-user app in Teams:

  1. Select ShareGate from the Teams sidebar.

    • If you can't find the ShareGate end-user app in the Teams sidebar, you should be able to find it from the dotted menu.

  2. From the Workspaces or Overview view, select Workspace requests.

  3. For each pending entry:

    • Select Approve to approve the request.
      OR

    • Select Deny to deny the request.

  4. Repeat step (3) for any remaining pending approval requests.

Tip: You can see your full approval history from the Approval requests view. Filter the results as needed.

From ShareGate's chatbot notification in Teams:

  1. Select Reply to request.

  2. See steps (3) and (4) of the previous section.

Note: Requestors receive a chatbot notification to inform them of their request's outcome regardless of whether it's approved or denied.

Considerations

  • You can only approve team and SharePoint site creation requests if your organization's IT admin has assigned you as a template's approver.

  • If a template has multiple approvers, only one must approve a workspace creation request.

  • If another approver has already replied to a workspace creation request, you can see their response from the Workspace requests view.
