Access and manage your archived items
Updated over 2 weeks ago

All of your archived teams and groups, and their content, can be found on the Archive page.

Open the archive details of a team or group to perform a full restore, download archived files and folders, move content to OneDrive for Business, and more.

Note: As long as your ShareGate license is active:

  • The data in your default ShareGate Azure storage is kept indefinitely (as long as you do not delete it).

  • The data in your custom Azure storage account is readable.

If your license expires

Default ShareGate Azure storage

If you use the default ShareGate Azure storage and your ShareGate license expires, you can access your archive and move entire archived teams or groups to a OneDrive for Business for up to 90 days.

After 90 days, ShareGate is not obligated to retain your data. For more information, see the ShareGate end user license, maintenance, and support agreement (Section 6.6).

Custom Azure storage account

ShareGate stores your archived data in a format that only the application can read. If you use a custom Azure storage account and your ShareGate license expires, you can access your archive and move entire archived teams or groups to a OneDrive for Business for up to 90 days.

Following those 90 days, your content will remain secure in your Azure storage but will be unreadable. Renew your ShareGate license to regain access to the data.

Move content to OneDrive for Business

  1. Log in to ShareGate Protect and select Archive from the sidebar.
The number of days remaining for you to retrieve your content will be listed at the top of the page.

  2. Click Copy to OneDrive and follow the prompts in the pop-up.
