Azure storage options for archiving
Azure storage options for archiving
Updated this week

With ShareGate you don't have to worry about losing important documents when you decide to clean up inactive teams and groups.

When you archive, you are able to retrieve your files and folders even past Microsoft’s soft delete 30-day grace period.

Choose from the default Azure storage solution provided by ShareGate or your own Azure storage.

Default ShareGate Azure storage

Custom Azure storage

Location of your data

Stored in Microsoft Azure’s East US 2 region.

Select the region of your choice when you create your storage.

Security

Your data is secure at all times (at rest and in transit) and stored with 3 layers of encryption.

For more information, see Is my data secure?

The same level of security as the default storage is provided when you use custom Azure storage.

Your archives are stored in a format that only ShareGate can read.

Costs

Free unlimited storage (no costs added).

Using your own storage incurs costs that will be added to your Azure bill.

How-to set up

1. Select Settings from the sidebar.

2. Select Storage.

3. Click ShareGate's storage.

Note: Saved storage settings on your account are final. You won't be able to change storage settings later. If your business needs change, get in touch with our support team---we'll work through this together.
