Review status

The review statuses reflect a team or group's real-time status. The status is relative to the current, or most recent, review a team or group has been included in.

A review can be triggered by the External sharing review policy, through a sensitivity tag, or via the Ask owner(s) feature.

Reviewed

Teams or groups marked as Reviewed have had external sharing links and guests verified (i.e. reviewed and approved or reviewed and removed) by an owner.

Waiting for review

Waiting for review indicates that the owner(s) of these teams or groups have received a notification to review external sharing links and guest access, but the review itself has not yet been completed.

Tip: To see the review process, see Take action on external sharing and guest access. Share the article with owners so they know what to expect.

Not reviewed after 14 days

An owner has 14 days to respond to the review notification. If an owner does not respond to the first notification, a reminder is sent after 7 days. For security, review notifications expire after 7 days.

Not reviewed means the owner(s) of these teams or groups did not complete the review during the 14-day period.

Never reviewed

Indicates that these teams or groups were never reviewed, whether a notification has never been sent or previous notifications sent to the owner(s) were sent and left unanswered.

Difference between Never reviewed and Not reviewed after 14 days

The status Not reviewed after 14 days is reserved for teams and groups that have reviewed external sharing links and/or guests in the past as part of a previous review cycle but that have not been reviewed in the most recent review cycle.

Never reviewed is reserved for teams and groups that have never been reviewed, whether previous notifications were sent to their owner(s) and not unanswered or no notifications were ever sent.
