After creating your ShareGate Home account, open ShareGate Protect and use your global admin access to consent ShareGate on your tenant.

How ShareGate Protect works
ShareGate Protect is a centralized interface to manage Microsoft 365 from your web browser.
When you consent your tenant, ShareGate can:
Crawl your tenant to capture and display relevant information.
Perform tasks using application and delegated permissions.
Collaborate with the end-users in your organization.
Note: Security is one of our highest priorities. We comply with industry standards and we have internal policies to ensure your data is protected. For details on our policies, see Security overview.
User access
For the first connection only, a global admin must consent ShareGate on your tenant.
After that's done, anyone with the global admin, SharePoint admin, or Groups admin can log in to ShareGate Protect with their Microsoft 365 account.
Note: Though you cannot grant access to users who don't have the required permissions (i.e., at least SharePoint admin), you can restrict users with access. For more information, see How can I manage user access to ShareGate?
Groups, teams, communication sites, and policies
This guide references policies, groups, teams, and communication sites.
Policies are management plans that you can implement with ShareGate. We'll explain each policy in more detail in the following sections.
A Microsoft 365 group is an Azure Active directory (AD) membership service that lets you connect multiple Microsoft 365 teamwork services.
Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration hub based on the foundation of Microsoft 365 groups, where users can create teams for daily work.
Communication sites are SharePoint sites that are specifically designed to relay information to large audiences.
Tip: The person who creates a team, group, or communication site is called the owner. Owners are needed to take action on the policies you set up with ShareGate.
