The Copilot Readiness Assessment analyzes your tenant and provides statistics and recommendations about what actions you should take to prepare it for Microsoft Copilot. It is designed to help you prepare your tenant for Copilot success by maximizing data relevance and security.

Prerequisites
Licensing
The Copilot Readiness Assessment is available for any customer with a ShareGate Protect, Migrate Pro, or Migrate Enterprise subscription.
Permissions
The Copilot Readiness Assessment requires the following Microsoft Graph API application permissions. All permissions are read-only and are granted through admin consent. Some of these permissions differ from ShareGate Protect required permissions.

Running an assessment
The Copilot Readiness Assessment is available from ShareGate Home and from ShareGate Protect. The first time you run the assessment, you are prompted to connect to your tenant and then consent to running the assessment app. If you do not have sufficient permissions to consent, you can ask a global admin or privileged role admin to consent.
After consent is granted, the assessment starts automatically. When the assessment is complete, click View results.
The Copilot Readiness Assessment page displays the most recent assessment date (MM/DD/YYYY). Hover your pointer over the info icon to see the currently connected tenant ID.
Note: To run a new assessment of the connected tenant, or to assess a different tenant, click New assessment.
When you run a new assessment of the connected tenant, the data currently saved in the Copilot Readiness Assessment app is deleted.
Overview
The Overview tab displays a summary of the The Copilot Readiness Assessment results.
SharePoint sites - The number of SharePoint sites in your tenant.
Groups - The total number of groups, including Teams, in your tenant.
OneDrive accounts - The number of OneDrive accounts.
Users - The number of users.
Assigned Copilot licenses - The number of assigned and total Copilot licenses.
Tenant size - The total tenant size.
The Overview also includes key points found during the assessment, which may need attention. Click See details next to each key point to open a window that includes details about the potential risks and suggested actions you can take.
Data security
The Data security tab displays information about public groups, links, and permissions that could put your data at risk.
Oversharing - The number of public groups in your tenant.
Sharing settings - The SharePoint external sharing setting.
Links - The number of shareable Anyone links, People in your organization links, and Specific people links. The totals include links for SharePoint and OneDrive for Business combined.
Permissions - The number of privileged site users.
Sensitivity labels - The number of Microsoft sensitivity labels that have been created.
Data security results that show potential risks include a Needs attention link that you can click to see details and suggested actions you can take.
Data quality
The Data quality tab displays information about inactive groups, sites, and users in your tenant, which can result in outdated or irrelevant data.
Inactivity - The number of Microsoft 365 inactive groups, SharePoint inactive sites, and total inactive users.
Understanding the results
On each page of the Copilot Readiness Assessment, some data points include a Needs attention link. Click the link to open a modal that contains:
Data related to the result. For example, 32 inactive sites, 89% all sites are inactive, etc.
The potential risk. This is an explanation of how the result may reduce the accuracy and relevance of Copilot's responses.
Suggestions, including one or more actions you can take to improve your tenant's Copilot readiness.
