Run a pre-check
Updated this week

The Pre-check report shows you possible warnings and errors that can occur when you run your migration.

Use the pre-check feature to test your migration, so that you can correct any potential issues and ensure your migration runs as smoothly as possible.

Relationship to the Migration report

When you run a pre-check, ShareGate simulates your migration by sending all the migration calls but without copying your information. This lets you see any possible problems (i.e. warnings and errors) that can arise during your actual migration.

Since your information is not copied during a pre-check, the results in the Pre-check report can differ from the Migration report you receive following the actual migration. New warnings or errors may appear on the Migration report as ShareGate works to match the source at the destination.
