Export your migration report to a drive or SharePoint

While you can review your migration report within ShareGate Migrate, you can also export it as an XLSX or CSV file to analyze your results with more control in Excel.

How to export your migration report to a drive

  1. Select Tasks from the sidebar in ShareGate Migrate.

  2. Open your desired migration task.

    • You can use filters to help you find your migration task.

  3. Click Export.

  4. Select where you want to save and rename your migration report as needed.

  5. If you want to save your report as a CSV instead of an XLSX, select CSV files in the Save as type dropdown.

  6. Click Save.

Tip: If the report exceeds the maximum number of rows in Excel, you can export it as a CSV file to split the results with your preferred text editor.

How to export multiple migration reports to a single file

  1. Select Tasks from the sidebar in ShareGate Migrate.

  2. Add a checkmark next to all the migration reports you want to export to a single document.

    • You can use filters to help you find your migration tasks.

  3. Click Export.

  4. Select Merge migration reports.

  5. Select your desired File format from the dropdown.

  6. Click Export.

  7. Select where to save and rename your migration report as needed.

  8. Click Save.

Tip: In the exported report, you can identify your migration jobs by filtering the Session ID column in Excel.

How to export your migration report to a SharePoint library

  1. Once connected to your source and destination, click Options on the copy screen.

  2. At the bottom of the General tab, click Setup automatic export.

  3. Select the document library you want to export your report to.

  4. Click Select.

  5. Rename the report as needed.

  6. Select your desired file type from the dropdown (XLSX or CSV).

  7. Click + Advanced formatting to append the date and time to the file name.

  8. Add a checkmark to Overwrite existing file.

    • If you don't overwrite existing files, a number will be appended to the end of the file name if it is already used.

  9. Click the checkmark at the top right to save and close your copy options and run or schedule your migration.

  10. Your migration report is automatically exported to your selected SharePoint library and preserved in the ShareGate Migrate Tasks screen.

Review your migration report

Once exported, you can use Excel to analyze your migration report and plan your next migration phase.
