Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
How to Connect to Google Drive
Follow these steps to connect to Google Drive:
In the sidebar, click Copy.
Select the Import external content tab.
Choose Import from Google Drive.
Enter your Google account email address.
Select your connection options:
Connect as Admin: This option allows you to migrate multiple users, provided you have the appropriate permissions.
Show as default email address: Select this to have ShareGate Migrate load this email address by default when you open the Import from Google Drive tool in the future.
Click Connect.
You will be directed to the Google Authentication screen.
Enter your email address or phone number, then click Next.
Enter your password and click Next.
ShareGate Migrate will prompt you to grant access to your Google Drive. If you're using Connect as admin, you may see different options.
Click Allow to grant permission.
Note: You can revoke ShareGate Migrate's access anytime by managing permissions in your Google account. If access is revoked, you must re-consent the next time you use the Import from Google Drive feature.
Once connected, you will see Google Drive as the Source in ShareGate Migrate.
2-Step Authentication (Optional)
If your Google account has 2-step authentication enabled, you will be asked to provide a verification code sent to your mobile device to complete the connection.
If 2-step authentication is not set up, you will not see this additional step.
Other authentication processes
Other authentication processes are not supported.
For example, ShareGate Migrate cannot bypass an ADFS login page you would set from the conditional access policies you can define in your Google Admin.
