Copying a group will recreate or merge it in your destination environment.
If you are merging groups, ShareGate Migrate will not copy the group membership unless the source and destination groups have the same principal name and type or if you use Mappings.
Note: Groups do not maintain the source site permissions when copied.

Prerequisites
You have site collection admin permissions on your source and destination site collections.
Note: Site collection admin permissions are required even if you have higher admin privileges like SharePoint admin or global admin permissions. For more info, see Microsoft administrative permissions.
How-to
Select Copy from the menu.
Select Copy structure and content.
Click Connect.
Select your source.
Click Next.
Click Connect.
Select your destination.
Click Next.
Select Groups from the list of Site objects.
Click Mappings on the top-right.
Select the Users and Groups tab.
Select the source group and map it to the destination group.
Select the group(s) you want to copy from the source.
Click Options on the top-right if you want to apply specific parameters.
Click Start copy on the bottom-right corner.
Once the action is completed, the migration report will show any successes, warnings, or errors. See Migration report for more details.
When you verify your destination group, the group members from the source group should be merged.
