Revoke consent to Microsoft 365 permission sets

Learn how to delete an Entra Enterprise application to revoke consent to a Microsoft 365 permission set.

Updated yesterday

A global admin can revoke consent to any Microsoft 365 permission set for ShareGate by deleting the associated Entra Enterprise application with these steps:

  1. Select Enterprise apps from the sidebar menu.

  2. Find and click on the name of the ShareGate Enterprise application associated with the permission set you wish to revoke consent to.

  3. Select Properties in the submenu.

  4. Click Delete in the top menu.

  5. The Enterprise app is deleted, and consent is revoked for its associated permission set.

Tip: After you delete one of the enterprise apps associated with ShareGate Migrate's desktop application, your access token will remain active until expiry. To remove the token before it expires, disconnect from your environment within ShareGate Migrate and then reconnect.

Note: ShareGate has updated its Enterprise apps multiple times over the last few years. If you want to clean up old permissions left over from one of these changes, you can review the list of current permission sets and delete any older enterprise applications that might still be present in your Entra admin center.

If you're reviewing ShareGate Migrate's permission sets, ensure you are using the latest version of Migrate on your desktop before deleting older versions of the Enterprise applications.
