Details
The performance setting and your CPU core count determine how many simultaneous requests ShareGate Migrate sends to your SharePoint servers.

Available options
Performance impact
Select the setting that works best with your environment:
Minimal
When selecting this option, ShareGate Migrate will only send one request to SharePoint at a time regardless of the number of cores your CPU has.
Note: This setting will have the lowest impact on the SharePoint server and can result in the slowest migration speed.
Low Impact
When selecting this option, ShareGate Migrate will send up to 4 simultaneous requests to SharePoint with a dual core CPU and up to 8 simultaneous requests with a quad core or higher CPU.
Normal (default)
When selecting this option, ShareGate Migrate will send up to 16 simultaneous requests to SharePoint with a dual core processor and up to 24 simultaneous requests with a quad core or higher CPU.
Note: The Normal level has been configured to achieve the best balance between migration speed and server impact in most scenarios.
High Performance
When selecting this option, ShareGate Migrate will send up to 32 simultaneous requests to SharePoint with a dual core CPU and up to 64 simultaneous requests with a quad core or higher CPU.
Note: This setting can result on the fastest migration speed and will have the highest impact on the SharePoint server. Depending on your SharePoint environment, High performance might make your SharePoint server struggle with too many requests and result in a slower migration speed than other performance levels.
Considerations
We recommend testing the different levels to determine which one is the most appropriate for your SharePoint environment.
You can change the Performance level during a migration and the changes will take effect immediately.
Your set Performance level will also apply to your PowerShell migrations, but unlike migrating directly in ShareGate Migrate, changes to the Performance level once a PowerShell migration is launched will not affect the running migration.
There is no PowerShell command or switch to change this setting.
The performance setting determines the number of simultaneous requests sent to the servers. This is different than Insane Mode that changes the way those requests are sent. For more information on Insane mode, see Insane mode FAQ.
